Serviceberry, Princess Diana

The beloved Princess Diana Serviceberry is returning to the fundraising tree sale! 

This lovely cultivar grows to approximately 20 feet tall with a 17-foot wide spread. It showcases large star-shaped flowers in the spring, leading to sweet, edible fruit that our local birds find very appealing.

This tree does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. This particular variety is an interspecific hybrid.

The Princess Diana has lovely red colour leaves in the fall, making it a perfect focal point tree for many homeowners. It should be noted that the Princess Diana Serviceberry grows slower than other serviceberries. It is also popular with landscapers as a solid choice to create a light, gracious screen.

Delivered as a Bare Root tree. The approximate height at time of delivery is 175 cm.
