Dogwood, Gray
NEW - The Grey dogwood is a very adaptable, native shrub that is excellent for naturalizing, especially in difficult sites, such as ponds and stream banks. It can be incorporated into a shrub border and is useful as a mass planting and offers plenty of cover for nesting birds. With a showy red stem, creamy white clusters of flowers appear in May followed by white berries in late summer that are quickly eaten by birds. The high-fat berries are enjoyed by over 100 species of birds as well as large and small mammals.
