Plum, Wild

NEW - The Wild plum is a fast-growing tree with a shrubby form that can reach 10-25 feet in height depending on sun and soil conditions. Kicking off the spring season with a spectacular display of fragrant white blossoms, it produces edible small fruit that grow to about 1” and typically shift from yellow to red once they are ripe throughout August and September. These wild fruits have incredibly tart, tough skin, but the flesh is juicy and sweet and is excellent for making jam, jelly, and pies. In the fall, the leaves turn a ruby or amber colour.   This wild plum is native to Ontario and pollinator friendly.
