Greetings Home Hospice Tree Supporters,
As mentioned earlier this month, the commercial nursery that grows and ships the trees for the Home Hospice North Lanark (HHNL) order was able to remain open under the Ontario essential workplaces order.
Their greatly reduced team worked diligently to dig, grade, bundle and place all trees and shrubs into long-term cold storage units. The nursery plans to run these units until June 12, 2020. This environment is intended to protect and keep the trees dormant until such time that they can be shipped to their destinations.
Ontario Declaration of Emergency & Impact To Our Tree Order
To help stop the spread of COVID-19, the Ontario government has extended the Declaration of Emergency to May 12, 2020. This extension will enable the government to continue protecting the health and safety of the people in Ontario.
It also means our tree order is not able to be shipped, received, or made available for pick-up at this time. We ask for your patience as we prepare a plan and seek approval from the local public health unit on how to best facilitate the final stages of this fundraiser.
When we receive more information about our order status and the shipping plans, we will send another update. In the interim, should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at trees@hhnl.ca
May you stay safe and be well.
